RUGBY SEVENS
England snatched victory after the full-time hooter to upset New Zealand 19-17 in the final of the third leg of the International Rugby Board Sevens series in Wellington on Saturday. It was a dramatic fight back by England who had trailed 0-17 before half time. Meanwhile, after South Africa made a dream start to this season's championship after winning the first two tournaments, Wellington had other ideas after the champions were knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing in a tense clash with New Zealand 0-7. The Boks however bounced back to win the plate final and take eight points from the competition to remain at the head of the table on 48, four points clear of England and New Zealand on 44.
RUGBY
Wales began their defense of the Six Nations title with a 26-13 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday. The Welsh, who led 26-6 early in the second half, ran in four tries. In other Six Nations fixtures, Ireland beat France in a upset with saw the home side win 30-21, whilst Italy succumbed to England at Twickenham by 36-11.

The Nashua Dolphins cruised to 117 for two and an eight-wicket win over the bizhub Highveld Lions in their Standard Bank Pro20 match at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead in Durban on Sunday. In the other game of the afternoon, log leaders Chevrolet Warriors beat the Gestetner Eagles in Bloemfontein by 18 runs as Ashwell Prince marked his long-awaited return from injury with a bustling innings of 46 from 34 balls. The Nashua Cape Cobras will host the Dolphins in their first leg of the semi final on Wednesday at Newlands.

Australia’s wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin, kept their series prospects alive after securing a 32-runs victory over New Zealand in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. Newl Zealand leads the series 2-1.

South Africa's James Kamte began his rookie year on the Asian Tour in style by lifting his maiden title at the season-opening Asian Tour International in Bangkok on Sunday. Kamte held off a spirited challenge from a determined Tetsuji Hiratsuka, closing with a five-under 66 for a 16 under par 268 total to pip the Japanese to the title by two shots.
